Piazza Castello is the heart of the old city. Palazzo Madama is in the centre of this arcaded square, where the main streets of the ancient city converge. Many outstanding architectures and metropolitan building overlook the square: the Royal Palace, the Prefecture, the Regione Piemonte headquarters, the Royal Theatre, the Subalpina Gallery, the Torre Littoria, the San Lorenzo Church and Palazzo Chiablese.
