The great square linking the city to the river and the hill
The slightly inclined square connects the seventeenth-century city to the river, creating a fascinating place that crosses the watercourse up to the surroundings of the Gran Madre Church and the green hill in the background. With its 40.000 m² surface, Piazza Castello is the largest square of the city and the largest arched square in Europe. Piazza Castello has always hosted events and festivals and is the best place to spend your summer evenings.
