The historical seat of the Town Hall, the administrative center which was both connected and separated from the Royal Palace
A true central place for centuries. The current one is designed together with the redesign of Piazza delle Erbe in the first half of the 1700s and it is on the site of previous municipal buildings since the Middle Ages. In this area there was the Forum in Roman times, at the intersection of the thistle and the decumanus (today Via Garibaldi and Via di Porta Palatina / S.Tommaso), then reduced in size but still a lively Piazza delle Erbe.
