The road of Kings
Several names were assigned to the road: Strada Maggiore, then Strada Nuova and until the 1800s. the road was known as Via Aurea. Madame De Straël gave it the romantic name of "Rue des Rois" but from 1882 the street was dedicated to Giuseppe Garibaldi, to whom it is still dedicated today.
In 1875 Via Garibaldi was called Rue des Rois. Each denomination was intended to emphasize the magnificence of the project and the beauty of its buildings
