A streched square

Piazza Solferino has a rather narrow and elongated shape, and represents a point of connection between the ancient city and its new expansion. The space owes its name to the battle of Solferino on June 24th 1859.

The image shows the location of the square, two blocks from Piazza San Carlo, part of the Old City and just as far from the Citadel, from which the city expanded.
