The Royal Library of Turin is one of the most important cultural institutions of the city and preserves over 200,000 volumes, antique papers, engravings and drawings.
The Royal Library, established by King Carlo Alberto of Savoy-Carignano (1798-1849) is located on the ground floor of the eastern wing of the Royal Palace. It mainly gathers works of history from the States of Savoy and historical sciences.
