The Casting cannons

With the works of XVIII century, the Arsenal is considered the Casting cannons most famous in the Europe. It occupied a surface area, near to the Citadel and the square of arms; a military town in the town with galleries, undergrounds and big spaces where a variety of new arms for the time were built. From the Casalis work of 1851 we know that: “the buildings that depends on the Arsenal are: the bombs laboratory, the true gunpowder factory and the refineries of nitric, the forge of reeds… The factory’s products in the times of need overcame, more than once, the twenty-five thousand weapons of every kind a year… The recent invention of war rocket introduced a hydraulic press…it serves mainly to charge the reeds of rocket to the Austrian way…”
