The final project

The building of XVIII century, of which there isn’t any trace, was damaged gravely during the assault of 1706. In 1728, Vittorio Amedeo II, in the framework of military apparatus reorganization in the Savoy states, instructs Filippo Juvarra of projecting a big building with workshops, foundries, warehouses, representation locals, classes for learning…The project was modified in 1730, the works started during the same year and in the two years later they focus on the big armory. Works started again in 1736 when Carlo Emanuele III instructs Felice De Vincenti of realizing the new project that took up the Juvarra’s second project. The yard, between suspension and resumption of work, is in full swing in 1769 to end in the next century.
