From Diana nel Foro temple to Eucharistic church

The church was erected taking up space into a very old urban fabric. Originally it was part of the church of San Silvestro (today Santo Spirito), built on a cult site to Diana the huntress, near the Roman Forum. In the second half of 1600 it was separated from it, opening a façade on the homonymous square that overlooks Palazzo di Città street, then part of an "urban redevelopment" intervention that gave luster to the connection between Piazza Castello and Piazza delle Erbe , in front of the Town Hall.
