The devotion for the miracle
In 1528, the City of Turin built a marble aedicule on a project by Sanmicheli in the exact place where the eucharistic miracle occurred in 1453 and almost a century later decided to build the church to dissolve the vow made during the plague of 1598.
In the drawing by F. Corni an ideal reconstruction of the aedicula of 1528, no longer existing.
