The heart of the city religiosity

The medieval church of St Andrea had three naves. Two side stairs led to the lower floor with the chapel of the Madonna delle Grazie. On a project of Guarino Guarini and on a wish of Maria Giovanna Savoia Nemours the expansion work started in 1679. The citizens took part with offers and they will entrust to the Madonna during the siege of 1706. In 1714 Juvarra was charged of the expansion of the presbytery and in 1729 the impressive altar was created.
