An outsize project
The obsession with the macro dimension leads us to think of the urban and monumental system revolutions of the already congested area around the Duomo and the Royal Palace. The colonnaded square in front of the Duomo remains fixed in everyone's project, but there are those who think of a new gigantic temple, facing north, which overtakes the Roman walls themselves with the apse, and humiliates the existing Duomo as "old church".
