Duomo di San Giovanni Battista Torino

The ancient bell tower (of which sources already speak in 1356) was definitively demolished in 1491, after having caused the death of a passer by the downfall of building material. In 1468 the construction of the current bell tower was begun in brick, at the behest of the bishop Giovanni de Compey. Left unfinished due to lack of funds, it was modified between 1720 and 1723, by Juvarra with a new crowning that became a model for subsequent eighteenth-century creations. Recently restored, it is part of the tour of the Diocesan Museum, and you can climb up to the bell tower to over 43 meters in height.
