Inquisitors and heretic

The history of the Inquisition in Turin has its center in the Dominican friars' church. The Pope Gregory IX gave them, since 1232, the task of investigating and pursuing possible heretical behavior. Despite the presence of the Waldensians, the tribunal established in the convent of San Domenico was one of the least intransigent in Italy, although it decreed 80 sentences to death in 4 centuries.
