Domini Canes

The influence of the Dominicans leaves the convent and marks the neighborhood in small details. At number 11 of via Milano, two dog heads observe the passersby from the façade of the eighteenth-century building. The word game associates the friars with the "Domini canes": for their role in the Inquisition, they appeared to the eyes of the people as "mastini del Signore" in defense of heretical attacks.

The dog's heads on the eighteenth-century façade, in via Milano, recall the presence of the friars of San Domenico
