The restoration brings to the light the original frescoes

During the "restoration" of the church at the beginning of the 20th century, Giovanni Vacchetta integrated some glaring gaps in the original frescoes with (often invented) drawings. In 1986, a "real" restoration conducted by Giovanni Romano, now allows us to distinguish the drawings and the original (softer) backgrounds from the additions invented the last century.

In the fresco of Christ Pantocrator, we recognize the original parts characterized by a softer color (visible at the top and side margins of the photo)
