The return of the gothic

The building has been restored to the gothic forms by two interventions (in 1866-70 and in 1906-11), under the direction of Riccardo Brayda and Alfredo d'Andrade, superintendent of the architectural heritage of Piedmont. D'andrade intervened, as in many other cases in his long career, with neomedioeval integration and invention criteria, widespread in those years.
