Of Clario Di Fabio
D'Andrade's plan allows to rediscover the original wooden truss of the roof and to find well-preserved parts of the frescoes, which will be bring back to life by removing the false baroque vaults. Unfortunately, the roof was destroyed in the bombings of 1943, and today few traces of the frescoes from the 14th and 14th centuries remain.
The section of the building before restoration. Beyond the icpverage that will be removed in a few years, the layout of the octagonal tower can be read well: with 4 sides resting on the transept arches and 4 on the connecting parts.
