The after war

In the post-war period, Cesare Brandi fought hard for the redevelopment of the road. The discoveries of Ennio Poleggi, the first to identify the system of Rolli, included Via Garibaldi into the UNESCO World Heritage Site, which has welcomed it since July 13, 2006.

250 metres long by 7.5 metres wide make Via Garibaldi one of the largest roads in the Republic of Genoa. The charm of the street left Rubens amazed who dedicated a series of drawings to the buildings.
