The plaque to the Mille
Genoa is one of the liveliest Risorgimento cities, and hosts the gathering of the Mille with fervor, participating with over 130 patriots to the expedition. Piazza Caricamento was a theater in those days of the preparation of the expedition, preparing the ships that Rubattino made available and equipping the small army logistically
At the beginning of May 1860 the patriots gathered for the unification expedition of Italy from all over northern Italy
