Among the most interesting buildings of the square there is the house of the executioner, also known as the Casa di Agrippa. it was built around the eleventh or twelfth century and its name came from the possible presence of the house of the executioner during the medieval period. The discovery of a Roman tombstone engraved with the name of Marcus Vispanius Agrippa, son-in-law of Augustus, gave her this new name. The current size of the building isn't the same of the original ones. It is presumed, in fact, that it was larger and extended on different levels. Today the house is home to the Balestrieri del Mandraccio.
