At the corner of Via del Molo and Piazza Cavour, just in front of the Casa del Boia, there is a mysterious sculpture hidden in the facade of a palace. It is a head, walled on the top floor of the building. There were different interpretations of the sculpture: Some think that it is the legendary founder of Genoa, Janus, but for others, it would be the head of the executioner. In the area, in fact, in medieval times capital executions took place. For someone, behind the sculpture, there would be the memory of the convicts whose heads were cut off until up there.
