Tournaments, ship ropes and duels of past centuries are exhilarating uses of the only free space within the walls. In 1900 the city grew, and the square was used for crafts and leisure in the neighborhood: the Castle area was still hungry for space and sun as in the Middle Ages.

In the beautiful photo of the 1930s, the mattresses' maker that met in front of S.Salvatore in spring carding the wool and making the covers and cushions.
