Churches and convents

Sarzano is on the edge of the oldest city, where churches, convents and congregations (see) remain to testify the strategic role played by religion in activities of public interest. Over time, 4 complexes overlook the square, today partially restored in architecture but without any religious function.

The map (Foppiani, 1854), shows the density of the open churches (in black 54 - S.Silvestro, 55-S.Donato, 56 - S, Croce, 57-S.Antonio, and the complex of S.Agostino, 58 - S.Salvatore) and, in gray, the complex of S.Agostino, deconsecrated since 1798)
