Giano and Genova

According to some historians, the name Sarzano derives from Arx Jani, Rock of Giano. The legend says that the two-faced god landed in the only accessible point of the rocky coast, at the mouth of the Rio Turbido, at the foot of the Castle hill and founded the city on the acropolis.
