Demolition and new construction

The convent complex, used as a warehouse, was gradually dismantled to give way to the construction of the Carlo Felice theatre. The construction of the theatre, designed by Carlo Barabino, began in 1826. On 7 April 1828 the inauguration ceremony of the new Carlo Felice took place.
