On the back of the two blocks, there is a small square in the shape of a lozenge, oriented at 45 ° with respect to the axis of the street, on which the monumental entrances of the buildings look out. The unusual orientation, designed by Juvarra creates a widening and provides an appropriate churchyard to the Basilica Mauriziana which also has the same diagonal orientation of the street.
