A visible discontinuity

The area of the Barbarossa walls is perhaps where the differences between the ancient historic center and the modern city are still strongly visible, precisely because of the transformations that have taken place outside the walls.

The difference in size, uniformity in relation to the slope between the buildings of the ancient city and those of the modern city is evident, with the Carignano bridge acting as a symbol of union between two incompatible worlds (from Google Earth)
