The City Palace was bombed twice, in 1942 and 1943, with disruptive bombs. The damage caused is considerable: the part of the building towards via Bellezia and Garibaldi is destroyed and a large part of the roof towards via Garibaldi is destroyed; all rooms are damaged with broken doors, windows, glass and partitions.
