The context is overturned

The peripheral area of the Roman city (where the theater was built) is located at the center not only of the Renaissance city, but of a duchy and of a kingdom, first regional and then national. In this extraordinary superimposition of centrality (from the Duomo to the Episcopal Palace, from the Shroud to the Kingdom Command Area) the theater area is a place of constructions for over a millennium, which only recently and partly are removed. Allowing for archaeological excavations, at least a portion of the rich traces still legible could be brought to light.

In the image, from Google Earth, the layout of the walls and the hemicycle of the Roman theater is highlighted
