Cimitero Monumentale Torino

With the rise of Napoleon in Italy all the royal areas were taken from the noblemen and used for public service, and particularly with the edict of Saint Cloud, for hygienic reasons, it was decided to build cemeteries outside the city walls. Here in the old park, now called Regio Parco, the CIimitero Generale was born. Later in 1828, on the Cimitero Generale, the Cimitero Monumentale was built.
