The old station

Inaugurated in 1856, Porta Susa old station was the historic railway station of the Turin-Novara line at first and then of the Turin-Milan line. Located at the western entrance of the city, it was designed by architect Carlo Promis and represented an important part of the urban development of the city and a crucial freight yard. It was suppressed in 2009 when the works on the new Porta Susa station and its new underground track began.
