The proposal of Vitozzi and Castellamonte

The project proposal, entrusted to Vitozzi and Castellamonte, consisted of an ellipsoidal structure raised above the floor of the church by means of a double ramp of eleven risers, raising the chapel by a meter and a half compared to the choir and two meters above the aisles. However, Vitozzi and Castellamonte's solution is rather intrusive. Between successions, wars and epidemics, the project was interrupted.

Image 1 from 1611 gives us the sense of size. The staircase at the bottom of the drawing is of approximately 10 meters, thus corresponding to the access space to the chapel. Image 2 represents the façade of the chapel at the bottom of the cathedral choir
