Corner of Roman walls

The Sanctuary of Santa Maria della Consolazione rises near the north corner tower of the Roman walls. It is the most important religious site of Turin dedicated to the Madonna Consolatrix and Patrona as it is engraved on the external portal. The Consolata is the protectress of Turin and she brings together in a parade every year a crowd of devotees through the streets of the city (20 June).

In the aerial photo the perimeter of the Roman walls is marked in yellow, with its towers, in red the sanctuary.
