Demolished the ancient churches (July 22, 1491) Bianca of Monferrato, laid the foundation stone of the new Cathedral, whose construction was entrusted to Amedeo da Settignano, also called "Meo del Caprino", who worked there until his death in 1501. The works ended in 1505. The builder who had also worked in Roman shipyards, brought the most popular Renaissance forms in the Piedmontese city. Of this artistic period the only buildings not reworked in Turin are San Giovanni and Palazzo Scaglia di Verrua.
