The urban plan includes the new railway station

The southerward urban expansion projects delete the diagonal lines of the historic streets and add the railway station in the orthogonal mesh of the blocks. The position of the railway station changes in the different projects but it is more or less near the centre. Here, it is situated at the height of Corso Marconi.

Bartolomeo Marocco, the capital expansion project adjoining Porta Nuova with the public garden to the east and the parade ground to the west (1847).
