The main railway station

Porta Nuova railway station is in a strategic point of the city, in Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, at the crossroads of Turin main streets: Via Paolo Sacchi and Via Nizza. Moreover, the station is the background for Via Roma, the first southward enlargement of the city. Porta Nuova is the main stop for the city public transportation lines and the connection point for tourists.

The first image shows a map of the city in 1854, when the blocks around the station were not yet completed. In the second picture, the city today, with the complete development of the area.
