Una nuova Sinagoga per Torino

The Jewish community, following a worship concession, bought a plot of land in via Montebello. It was originally an old wall rampart demolished at the beginning of 19th century on Napoleon's order. At that time the area was called "Contrada del cannon d'oro". The building works started in 1862, but with the purpose of becoming a synagogue. There was a break in the construction and the works started again in 1878 and finished in 1889.
