A wall divides the Palace from the Port

In the early 1600s the fear of enemy landings led to the creation of a continuous wall that separates the docks from the city. Since then, until a few years ago, the Palazzo has been separated from the Port.

It should be noticed the fountain (called "Barchile") at the service of ships: a sign of welcome that contradicts the hardness of the walls just a few meters further.
