Monsignor Asinari’s report describes the church of Santo Stefano al Monte in honor of the pastoral visit of 1651: “[...] it is formed by three oblong naves, the medium is the right one, the roof is covered by bare tiles, the left one doesn’t have a roof [...] the walls are completely raw [...] On the side of the Epistle, under the right nave, there is a rustic room used by the hermit as his dwelling.
