A Sanctuary on the mountain
The Sanctuary/ Priory of Santo Stefano al Monte rises isolated on top of the ancient mountain overlooking the village of Candia Canavese. Thanks to its panoramic location it is possible to admire the traces of the Baltic glacier on the Morainic Amphitheater of Ivrea, the lake of Candia, and the upper alpine chain.
The panoramic view shows the Sanctuary of Santo Stefano al Monte’s location (indicated by the blue arrow). It is located 400 meters high, thus dominating the town of Candia Canadese and Lake Candia.
