In 1426, with the death of the parish priest Perino De Bovis di Santià, the parish was abolished and the land assigned to the Chapter of Ivrea Cathedral, which appointed a priest to help the parish priest of Bollengo. In time, the priest was replaced by a hermit, who had the task of guarding the building, hosting pilgrims, assisting the parish priest and going to the churches of the diocese to ask for offerings.
