The Michelotti channel was designed to feed the mill of the chain in the neighborhood. The construction, designed by the engineer Ignazio Michelotti, was completed in 1816 by his son, architect Michelotti. The Michelotti canal, after the mill milling, no longer had a vital function and was eliminated in the 1930s, filled with the ruins of the demolished palaces in the old Via Roma, and now stands the great Michelotti park.
