The designers of the 1st stretch

The most interesting blocks are located on the west side. Among these, the corner building with Piazza San Carlo, designed by Armando Melis and the engineer Bernocco; the block of Annibale Rigotti and Ilario Sormano and above all the highest body on via Viotti (of a rationalist-Mendelsohnian taste with windows inserted in horizontal moldings) which ends with the so-called 19-storey "Torre Littoria", object of the hardest criticism from the lovers of tradition. The tower and the building represent the first civil construction structure made out of steel in Turin.
