The block and Santa Croce at the end of 1600s

The gallery is inserted around the ancient Mauritian Hospital. At the time of Theatrum Sabaudiae, the Hospital of the Knights of San Maurizio and San Lazzaro is an important part of the Northern district of the city; that of urban equipment. Near the walls there are the Military Districts, the female life-imprisonment and the withdrawal of the Daughters of the Militaries, the Hospital for mad people, the baths establishment, the sanctuary and the Consolata convent. Right next to the S.Croce block, which contains the Hospital, the public iceboxes, the roof of the blacksmiths and the butcher, the district of the Guards on foot, and the Market.
