In November 2013, almost 10 years after the last Ukrainian revolution, the first protests that brought great change to the nation began. This time, day after day, the tension was increasing a lot, the demonstrations became more and more violent, citizens were protesting against the failure of Ukraine’s association with the European Union by President V.Yanukovych and his government. As a result of the worsening situation, the Berkut special forces intervened and tried to suppress the protests using all means. Kalashnikov shots, snipers, Molotov cocktails and various fires led to the death of hundreds of protesters and special forces members. The event not only provoked the flight of the incumbent president, the early conduct of the presidential elections and the obtaining of the signature, it also sanctioned the foundations of a series of internal conflicts and crises with the neighboring state of Russia. The conclusion of the protests led to what is termed the "2014 Ukrainian Revolution"
