Icon of the Category "Urban"Via di Mascheroni e Piazza Embriaci Genova

Streets that climb to the Castle in a little-known section of the ancient city, where the last medieval tower still stands in plain sight.

To the north, the Castello hill is crossed by narrow streets full of medieval history: Salita and via di Mascherona, Vico Vegetti, Piazza Embriaci, which run alongside large buildings with ancient, severe, silent bases, without commercial activities and with many signs of recent war demolitions and degradation: the deep historical center, which still awaits redemption from a centuries-old degradation but which surprises at every corner.
