Piazza Susina: between the old and the new city

The most prestigious noble palaces overlook Piazza Susina (see POI Piazza Savoia), the centre of the new extension, in the newly built part. The already existing blocks south-east of the square, of medieval layout, are rebuilt and the fronts on the district of the Senate that crosses them, are rectified, widening the street on the size of the district of Carmine, in the west of new plant. The restructurings are carried out very slowly over time: they are profound transformations of the ancient fabric, complex interventions on the part of private individuals, as will be the case for Via Milano and Via Garibaldi. The aim is not only to improve fronts on the way, but also to index land increases in the areas concerned.

Two blocks overlook Piazza Susina. A large building of a single property is located on the part of the neighborhood of new plant while the other, to the southeast, is a redevelopment of an existing medieval block.
