A new urban design

The frame of the seventeenth-century design had 4 large blocks composed of dozens of small courtyards with only one facing the street. In the renewal plan that shirt is replaced by a system of much smaller blocks (a quarter of the previous ones), with all the sleeves facing the street and small regular courts inside. The only anomaly is the current Piazza CLN, which incorporate the Juvarra churches and creates a special public space with a portico and a strong representative role (see dedicated POI). large construction site: in 1937 the plan was completed in all its new buildings and was solemnly inaugurated with a majestic parade of the regime.

In the image are outlined the streets who used to divide the blocks from the XVII century.
