The new street shown by lights

Like the other urban renewal interventions, the reconstruction of Via Roma is also "told" as the advent of a "new" universe in its own right, completely separated from the context where the "old" city remains. Porta Nuova Station is the only evidence of a tolerated preexistence, a sign of the previous generation of novelties, although very different in style (and perhaps for this reason presented dark and indistinct).

The postcard, incredibly dark, highlights the rigor and essentiality of the modern urban form, which is then resurrected by the glittering of the advertising lights, which flourished after 1950 and a sign of the new commercial vitality of the city centers
